Academically, my background includes a specialized Master’s Degree in Judicial Administration, a post-graduate diploma in Regulatory Law and one of my undergraduate Honours B.A.’s was in Law in Society. I taught courses on Family Mediation at McMaster University for eight years. I train mediation students, both at the practicum and internship levels. In terms of Professional Associations, I am an accredited family mediator (Acc. F. M.) with the Ontario Association of Family Mediation (OAFM), a lifetime member of Family Mediators of Canada (FMC), and an Accredited Employee Assistance Mediator through ADRNET. I am also a member in good standing with the The ADR Institute of Ontario (ADRIO), The Association for Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), The Academy of Family Mediators/Mediate.com, and a past member of the Network (Interaction for Conflict Resolution), The Society for Conflict Resolution (SCRO), The Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR)/ACR NET, and the ADR section of the Ontario Bar Association.
Of mention is that I am the current director of AXIS Family Mediation Inc., and as such supervise the operations of the mediation services (both in court an off-site), the Information and Referral Services, and the Mandatory Information Programs for the Hamilton (Unified Family Court), Kitchener (both Superior Court and Ontario Court of Justice), Cambridge (Ontario Court of Justice) and Guelph (both Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice) regions. I believe in giving back to the communities I serve and live in, and as such, I currently volunteer on the Legal Aid Ontario Area Committee, the board of directors for Limitless Learning, and am a past volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, The Canadian Cancer Society and the Ontario Provincial Police.
